Job Title: SEN TA - Music Therapy
Axcis are seeking someone who is passionate about using music to support students' development and well-being? We are looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant with a background in Music Therapy to join our Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Ealing. This full-time role (08:30 AM - 4:00 PM) offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students with additional needs, using creative approaches to help them thrive academically and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
-Support students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges using music therapy techniques.
-Work closely with teachers and other support staff to deliver tailored interventions.
-Help manage challenging behaviours, utilising music and therapeutic strategies to promote positive outcomes.
-Maintain safeguarding standards and ensure the well-being of all students.
-Assist in creating a nurturing and inclusive environment where each child’s unique abilities are valued.
Requirements:
-Enhanced DBS on the update service
-Currently studying or have completed an MA in Music Therapy (or equivalent).
-Strong understanding of safeguarding and experience working with vulnerable children.
-A genuine passion for using music as a tool for emotional and educational development.
-Previous experience working with children with SEND, SEMH, or in a PRU setting is highly desirable.
-Excellent communication skills and a compassionate, patient approach.
