Job Title: SEN 1:1 Primary Teaching Assistant
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and supportive school community. This full-time position requires working Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, providing 1:1 support to a Year 4 pupil who exhibits challenging behaviours. The role is instrumental in fostering the pupil’s academic progress, emotional well-being, and social development. Role Responsibilities: Provide tailored 1:1 support to a Year 4 pupil, addressing academic and behavioural needs. Implement strategies to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours effectively. Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to the pupil’s development. Assist in creating a positive and structured learning environment to promote engagement and achievement. Maintain detailed records of progress, behaviour incidents, and interventions. Key Requirements: An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one. Proven experience working with challenging behaviours in 1:1 or small group settings, with references to confirm this experience. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build a trusting rapport with the pupil and work effectively within a team. Patience, resilience, and a flexible approach to adapting strategies to meet individual needs. A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs and helping them reach their full potential.
