Job Title: SEMH Teaching Mentor
Mainstream SEMH Mentor
Location: Waltham Forest, Greater London
Job Type: Full-Time mentor (school hours)
Salary: £97-£100 per day
At Axcis we are looking for various teaching assistants who have experience in dealing with SEMH children with speech and language difficulties, moderate learning difficulties and autistic spectrum disorder, to work within a classroom setting across the school. We are looking for strong minded candidates who can work within small groups or 1:1 with children between the ages of 11-16.
Role Overview:
As an SEMH Mentor, you will play a crucial role in supporting students facing emotional and behavioural challenges. You will help to promote positive mental health, build resilience, and develop essential social skills. Your guidance will help students navigate their academic and personal lives more effectively.
Axcis are looking for candidates who have experience in any of the below settings supporting a variety of special needs:
- Mainstream Schools
- Youth Clubs
- Personal experience considered (SEND)
- Skilled and experienced in supporting children with a variety of needs.
- Knowledgeable and passionate about SEMH.
- Able to work as part of a team and inspire others.
The position is general in-class support - you may be expected to work one to one, in small groups or providing general in-class support as required. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to young people. You will be required to work with small groups of secondary age pupils, assisting them with their literacy and numeracy skills and helping to keep them on task.
