Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant
SEMH Teaching Assistant – Wilmslow Area
Start Date: September 2025
Location: Wilmslow and surrounding areas
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

Axcis Education is currently recruiting experienced Teaching Assistants (TAs) to support students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in schools across the Wilmslow area. With the new academic year approaching, we are keen to speak to TAs who have recently been working in school settings and are now seeking fresh opportunities from September 2025.
About the role:
- Supporting students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups with SEMH needs
- Working closely with class teachers, SENCOs and other support staff
- Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in learning
- Supporting the emotional wellbeing and mental health of pupils
- May include personal care, de-escalation and behaviour support depending on the needs of the students
Requirements:
- Recent experience working in schools (mainstream or specialist provisions)
- Strong understanding of SEMH and related challenges
- Confident in managing challenging behaviour and building positive relationships
- A calm, resilient and empathetic approach
- Team Teach or other relevant training (desirable but not essential)
