Job Title: School Support Worker
Teaching Assistant | Special School | Edgware | September Start
Are you working in care, support work or healthcare and looking for a rewarding career supporting children with additional needs?
A specialist school in Edgware is recruiting enthusiastic and caring Teaching Assistants to join their team this September. The school supports primary and secondary pupils with a range of complex learning needs, including Autism, communication difficulties, physical disabilities and associated medical needs.
No previous school experience is required – if you've worked as a Carer, Support Worker, Healthcare Assistant or in a similar role, your skills are highly transferable. The school is looking for individuals who are compassionate, resilient and committed to helping young people achieve their full potential.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing individualised support to pupils throughout the school day.
Assisting with communication, sensory regulation and structured learning activities.
Encouraging independence, confidence and social development.
Working closely with teachers, therapists and support staff to meet each pupil's individual needs.
Helping to maintain a safe, positive and engaging learning environment.
The ideal candidate will:
Have experience supporting individuals with additional needs in a care or support setting.
Be patient, adaptable and able to remain calm in challenging situations.
Be passionate about improving outcomes for children with SEND.
Be a strong team player with excellent communication skills.
Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.
