Job Title: Psychology Graduate/Student Teaching Assistant
Opportunities for Psychology Students and Graduates – Gain Valuable Experience Supporting Children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in the Bournemouth area Axcis Education are pleased to offer an excellent opportunity for Psychology students and recent graduates to gain practical experience working with children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in educational settings across the Bournemouth area. This experience is ideally suited for individuals seeking to pursue careers in Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Speech and Language Therapy, or related fields. Available Roles: For Psychology Students: • Casual, part-time roles available (1 to 5 days per week) to fit alongside academic timetables • Hands-on experience that complements university coursework and enhances academic learning • Opportunities to work with a broad range of SEN profiles, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, and communication difficulties For Psychology Graduates: • Full-time, paid positions available as part of your placement year or upon graduation • A valuable opportunity to gain in-depth experience in a supportive and professional educational environment Role Responsibilities: • Supporting the learning and development of children and young people with SEN, either in classrooms, small groups, or on a one-to-one basis • Assisting teaching staff in delivering tailored educational and behavioural support • Helping pupils achieve their educational and personal development goals Requirements: • Current Psychology students (undergraduate or postgraduate) or recent Psychology graduates • A genuine interest in child development, education, and inclusive practices • Strong communication skills, reliability, and a proactive approach Further information: • September 2025 start • Roles are based in a range of educational settings across Bournemouth and the surrounding area • Hours 8.30am – 4pm • Pay range £90 - £98 per day This is a unique opportunity to gain relevant, practical experience that will support your academic and professional development while making a meaningful contribution to the lives of young learners.
