Job Description:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team in Sutton. The successful candidate will support the delivery of high-quality education to children at the primary school level, assisting in creating a nurturing and stimulating environment that fosters learning and development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the classroom teacher with planning, preparing, and delivering educational activities.
- Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning concepts presented by teachers.
- Supervise students in the classroom, during lunch/break times, and on field trips, ensuring their safety and promoting positive behaviour.
- Help maintain a well-organized, clean, and interactive classroom.
- Provide administrative assistance to the teacher, such as preparing materials and keeping student records up to date.
- Collaborate with the teacher to monitor the progress of students and report any concerns.
- Aid children with special educational needs, under the direction of the teacher and SENCO, to ensure inclusive education practices.
Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent.
- Experience as a teaching assistant or working with children in an educational setting.
- Strong English and Mathematics skills.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with children, staff, and parents.
- A patient, caring, and creative individual, committed to the development and learning of children.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
