Job Title: Primary Teacher - KS2
Primary School Teacher – Year 5 and 6 – Mitcham – September Start Full time | Monday to Thursday 8am to 4pm, Friday 8.30am start (includes planning time) A specialist SEND primary school in Mitcham is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary Teacher to lead a small Year 5 and 6 class from September. Pupils in this setting have a range of needs including autism, non verbal communication and sensory processing differences. The class is small, with 5 to 8 pupils and supported by 2 to 3 experienced teaching assistants. Pupils are working at a lower academic level, so lessons are tailored to individual ability rather than year group expectations. SEND experience is beneficial but not essential. The school is open to applications from strong mainstream primary teachers with a nurturing approach and good classroom management skills. The Role Teaching a mixed Year 5 and 6 group working at KS1 or early KS2 levels Full time classroom responsibility Working closely with experienced support staff to deliver a personalised curriculum Delivering consistent routines and structure in a well-resourced setting Schedule Monday to Thursday 8am to 4pm Friday 8.30am start with planning time Weekly teacher meeting on Mondays (subject to change) Ideal Candidate Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Experience in primary education Adaptable, calm and confident working with a range of needs Interest or experience in ASD, non verbal communication and sensory strategies Ability to work well as part of a multidisciplinary team This is a rewarding role within a caring, specialist environment.
