Job Title: Primary SEN Teaching Assistant
Axcis Education are seeking to appoint a passionate, self-motivated and flexible SEN Teaching Assistant to join a collaborative and welcoming primary academy school in Plymouth
The purpose of this role is to work under the instruction and guidance of the SENCO to undertake one-one work, care and support to enable access to learning for pupils with special educational and social needs.
About the successful candidate
You will have had previous experience in working with children in a similar setting and be able to effectively communicate with adults and children alike. Working in partnership with the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom, assisting pupils to learn and reach their full potential as well as working with a child with challenging behaviour. If you have high expectations and understanding of behaviour of all pupils and can create and maintain a purposeful and positive learning environment, then Axcis would love to hear from you.

Key Skills:
• To have knowledge and understanding of social, emotional & mental health needs and cognitive needs, that affect children and young people’s development.
• Ability to work one-to-one with pupils with additional needs
• Excellent listening and communication skills
• An ability to build strong, trusting relationships
• Promote and support the inclusion of all pupils in learning and social skills activities
• To use positive and personalised anxiety management strategies
This is a full time role which will begin on a temporary basis and has the potential to become permanent for the right person. Daily rate of pay is between £85-£90 per day and the hours of work will be Mon-Fr- 8.30-3.30
