Axcis Education is delighted to be working in partnership with a mixed Community Special School in Ealing, currently seeking a dedicated and experienced PMLD Teaching Assistant to a wonderful SEND School in Ealing. This full-time role is available immediately and offers an enriching opportunity to support pupils aged 4 to 19 years with profound and multiple learning difficulties, moderate to severe learning needs, and associated medical or physical challenges.

Key Responsibilities
As a PMLD Teaching Assistant (HLTA), you will:
-Support teachers in planning and delivering differentiated lessons, ensuring that activities are inclusive and appropriate to each child’s individual needs
- 1:1 support, particularly for pupils with complex physical, sensory, or medical needs
-Work collaboratively with therapists (e.g. physiotherapists, speech & language therapists) to embed therapeutic goals into daily learning routines
--Assist with personal care tasks, including feeding, toileting, and mobility support, always maintaining dignity and respect
-Promote the development of life skills, social interaction, and independent learning through creative activities and outdoor sessions
-Help ensure a safe, positive, and stimulating learning environment where every child is encouraged to reach their full potential
-Person Specification – What We’re Looking For
To be successful in this role, you should have:
-Proven experience as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) or in a similar support role within a SEND or PMLD setting
-A genuine passion for supporting pupils with complex learning and physical needs
-Excellent interpersonal skills, patience, and adaptability
-Confidence in managing and responding to a variety of pupil needs and behaviours
-A team-player attitude with a commitment to collaborative working
-Strong understanding of safeguarding practices and willingness to uphold them at all times
-An Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
