Job Title: PMLD Teaching assistant
PMLD Teaching Assistant – Specialist College | Haringey | September 2025 Start
Axcis Education is working closely with a fantastic specialist college in Haringey to recruit an experienced and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support students with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD).
This is a full-time position starting in September 2025 – perfect for someone passionate about SEND and ready to make a lasting impact.
Role Overview:
Job Title: PMLD Teaching Assistant
Location: Haringey, North London
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Pay: Competitive – based on experience
?? What You'll Be Doing:
Providing 1:1 and small group support for students with PMLD
Assisting with sensory-based learning and communication-focused activities
Supporting the delivery of EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
Working closely with therapists, teachers, and other support staff
Assisting with personal care, feeding, and mobility where needed
We’re Looking For Someone Who:
Has previous experience working with learners with PMLD
Is calm, patient, and nurturing in their approach
Understands sensory processing needs and alternative communication (PECS, Makaton, etc. – desirable)
Holds a valid DBS or is happy to apply for one through us
