Are you a compassionate and skilled tutor with a passion for supporting children with autism? Axcis education are seeking a dedicated part-time tutor to join our agency and work with non-verbal children with autism. In this role, you will provide individualized educational support to help these children engage with learning, develop essential life skills, and thrive in a nurturing environment.
As a tutor, you will work closely with children, parents, and other professionals to create tailored learning plans that accommodate each child's unique needs. You will support them in communication development, social skills, and fostering independence.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide one-on-one tutoring and educational support for non-verbal children with autism.
• Develop and implement individualized learning plans that align with each child's strengths and areas for growth.
• Foster a positive, safe, and encouraging environment where the child feels supported and motivated.
• Collaborate with parents, school staff, and other professionals to ensure consistency and continuity of care.
• Monitor progress and adjust learning plans as needed, providing regular updates to parents and professionals.
Key Requirements:
• Experience working with children with autism, particularly non-verbal children, is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of autism spectrum disorder and experience using alternative communication systems (PECS, Makaton, or AAC) is a plus.
• Patience, empathy, and a calm, understanding approach to working with children with additional needs.
• Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with children and their families.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A flexible, creative, and proactive approach to supporting children in their learning journey.
