Job Title: Learning Support Assistant
Job Advertisement: Learning Support Assistant (Mainstream College) Location: Bromley Hours: Full-time, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Monday to Friday) Start Date: ASAP We are seeking a dedicated and flexible Learning Support Assistant to join our mainstream college in Bromley. In this full-time role, you will provide tailored support to SEND students with additional needs across core subjects such as English and Maths, as well as vocational courses including (but not limited to) Hairdressing, Bricklaying, Plumbing, Electrics, Childcare, Health and Social Care, and Media. Key Responsibilities: • Provide 1:1 and small group support to SEND students, ensuring they can access and engage with their studies. • Assist students in developing skills and confidence in core subjects and practical vocational courses. • Collaborate with teaching staff to adapt materials and teaching strategies to meet individual needs. • Promote inclusion, independence, and positive behaviour within the classroom and workshop settings. • Build strong relationships with students, fostering a supportive and encouraging learning environment. • Monitor and report on student progress, offering feedback to teachers and other support staff. Requirements: • Experience supporting SEND students in an educational setting, ideally at the further education level. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and staff. • A flexible and proactive approach, comfortable working across a variety of academic and vocational subjects. • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to promoting inclusion and equal opportunities.
