Job Title: Graduate Teaching Assistant Role
Are you a recent graduate looking to take your first steps into education? Whether you’ve studied psychology, education, child development, or simply have a strong interest in supporting children, this opportunity could be the ideal starting point for a meaningful and rewarding career. A vibrant and inclusive primary school based in central Manchester is currently recruiting graduate Teaching Assistants to join its dedicated support team. These roles are perfect for individuals who are passionate about helping children thrive — particularly those who may need extra guidance or encouragement in the classroom. You do not need previous school experience. What’s more important is your enthusiasm, empathy and willingness to learn. Full training is provided, including access to a wide range of CPD-certified courses such as safeguarding, SEND awareness, and behaviour management. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone with a genuine curiosity about special educational needs or child-centred development. In this role, you’ll work closely with class teachers to assist pupils with their learning, both one-to-one and in small group settings. You may support children who face challenges related to attention, communication or emotional regulation — including pupils with autism, ADHD or speech and language needs. You’ll help create a calm and supportive classroom environment where all children feel safe, included and confident in their abilities. This is a full-time position during term time and offers invaluable experience for graduates considering careers in teaching, educational psychology, therapy or SEN support. It’s also a great opportunity to explore whether a future in education is right for you, with guidance and mentoring provided throughout. If you're a graduate who wants to make a real difference in the lives of children — and you’re ready to learn, grow and contribute to a nurturing school community — we’d love to hear from you.

If you are interested, then please click on the apply button and contact Laurene Pierrot on 0161 529 9200 l Ext: 5013.

If you are not interested in this role but know someone else who might be, don't forget that we offer £50 in shopping vouchers if you refer a friend to us and we place them in the job. For more details, contact your local Axcis office.

This is a temporary position, unless stated otherwise.

Axcis is an equal opportunities employer and as such we do not discriminate based on age, gender, disability, race or any other equal opportunities criteria.

The company is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

As such, you will be required to provide an up to date DBS, or be prepared to allow Axcis to process one on your behalf, in addition to other mandatory compliance checks in line with the DfE guidelines (for details please see our website).

Axcis Education is an employment agency offering temporary supply work for daily, short-term and long-term assignments in addition to permanent positions.

You must be suitably qualified for the position advertised and be prepared to attend a face to face interview with Axcis to demonstrate your suitability for this role.

Salary / Pay Rate will be dependent on your skills and experience.

View the disclaimer

Contact: Laurene Pierrot

Telephone: 0161 529 9200 l Ext: 5013
