Job Title: Early Years Teaching Assistant
About the Role:
We are looking for a dedicated and nurturing Early Years Teaching Assistant to join our team at a vibrant primary school in Preston. This role is perfect for someone who has a genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their development in these crucial early years.
As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with qualified teaching staff to create a positive, engaging, and inclusive environment that allows each child to flourish. You will assist in delivering fun, educational activities that support the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, ensuring that every child feels valued and supported on their learning journey.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the classroom teacher in planning and delivering activities aligned with the EYFS curriculum.
Provide one-to-one and small group support to children, assisting with literacy, numeracy, and social skills development.
Promote positive social interactions and emotional development among pupils.
Supervise and assist with a range of activities, including playtime, crafts, reading, and storytelling sessions.
Observe and report on individual children’s progress, needs, and areas for development.
Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating classroom environment.
About You
Qualifications: Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is preferred but not essential.
Experience: Previous experience working with early years or young children in an educational setting.
Skills: A patient, nurturing approach with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge: A good understanding of the EYFS framework and principles of child development.
Personal Qualities: Enthusiastic, adaptable, and reliable, with a genuine interest in early childhood education.
