Location: Wandsworth, London
Salary: £90-95 per day
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 3:30 pm
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant team in Wandsworth, London. The successful candidate will be essential in providing tailored support to students with a wide range of complex educational needs within a dynamic classroom setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the guidance and supervision of the Headteacher and class teachers.
- Support pupils with emotional and behavioral challenges by employing specialized strategies to promote engagement and learning.
- Work collaboratively with the teaching staff to plan and implement individual education plans (IEPs) that accommodate specific learning needs.
- Facilitate small group sessions and one-to-one support to enhance students' academic progression and personal development.
- Utilize appropriate communication tools and techniques to effectively interact with pupils with varying levels of communication ability.
- Promote a safe, nurturing classroom environment that respects pupil diversity and fosters inclusivity.
- Contribute to the assessment of pupils' work and monitor their progress, reporting observations to relevant team members.
- Attend and participate in scheduled meetings, training sessions, and workshops to maintain and update professional expertise.
Qualifications:
- A patient, flexible, and resilient approach to working with children of differing abilities
- Relevant experience supporting children with complex needs in an educational or care setting
- Enhanced DBS check or willingness to undergo one
