Job Title: Children & Young Adult's Deputy Manager
Deputy Manager – Children & Young People’s SEND Services
Harrow & Ealing | £30,500 per annum | Full-Time (37.5 hours/week)
Are you an experienced and passionate leader ready to make a lasting difference in the lives of children and young people with SEND?
We’re expanding our services to meet growing demand, and we’re looking for a proactive and skilled Deputy Manager to help lead the delivery of high-quality play, leisure, and short break services across Harrow and Ealing.
About the Role
As Deputy Manager, you will play a vital role in delivering and developing inclusive clubs and activities that run year-round, including weekends, after-school, and during school holidays. You will be responsible for leading weekend and holiday clubs across Harrow and Ealing, primarily based in local schools and our purpose-built centre. You will supervise and support a team of special needs playworkers and session leaders, coordinate staffing and rotas, and oversee activity planning to ensure high standards of delivery and safety.
Your responsibilities will include developing person-centred support plans, promoting Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), ensuring safeguarding and health and safety standards, and managing digital systems such as Kinderly and CPOMS. You will also work closely with families and professionals from education, health, and social care.
About the Service
Our inclusive services support children and young people aged 5 to 25 with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, non-verbal communication, physical and medical needs, and behaviours that challenge.
We deliver after-school clubs, weekend short breaks, school holiday programmes, and daytime community activities across Harrow and Ealing, operating from both our centre and local schools.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone confident, organised, and compassionate, with a Level 3 qualification in childcare, youth work or a related field. You should have at least four years of experience working with children or young people, ideally in a SEND setting, and at least one year of experience in a supervisory or leadership role. A strong understanding of safeguarding, inclusive practice, and the needs of children with complex conditions is essential. You should also be an excellent communicator with a flexible, team-oriented approach. A full UK driving licence is desirable, particularly if you are able to drive a minibus.
Working Pattern
This is a full-time role at 37.5 hours per week, working five days out of seven on a rota basis, with two consecutive days off. The role includes regular weekend working. Shifts are 8 hours long and scheduled between 8:30 AM and 7:00 PM, including a 30-minute unpaid break. Your base will be in Harrow, with regular sessions taking place in Ealing. Free on-site parking is available at the Harrow location.
What We Offer
We offer a welcoming, inclusive, and ambitious working environment with opportunities for ongoing training and career development. This is a chance to take on a leadership role in a well-respected and growing service, and to have a real and lasting impact on the lives of young people and their families.
