Job Title: Challenging Behaviour Teaching Assistant
Position: Challenging Behaviour Teaching Assistant Location: London, Wandsworth Hours: 8:00am-4:30pm- Full time Pay: Paid to scale Start date: Monday 1st September We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Challenging Behaviour Teaching Assistant for a full-time position in Wandsworth, London. The role requires supporting students who exhibit challenging behaviours, working closely with the lead teacher to implement strategies that promote a positive and productive learning environment. Key Responsibilities: • Work one-on-one or in small groups with students who have behavioural, social, or emotional difficulties. • Develop personalised strategies under the guidance of the SENCO and classroom teachers to engage students effectively. • Implement and monitor behavioural plans, documenting progress and setbacks to ensure the consistent development of the students. • Create a safe and nurturing environment for learning, encouraging self-regulation and positive interactions amongst students. • Act as a role model for appropriate behaviour and social interaction. • Assist with the preparation of teaching materials tailored to individual needs. • Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and professionals regarding student progress and challenges. • Participate in training and professional development activities related to behaviour management and special educational needs. Qualifications: • NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent is preferred. • Proven experience working with children with challenging behaviours. • Strong understanding of safeguarding protocols. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. • Patience, resilience, and the ability to stay calm in difficult situations.
