Job Description:
We are seeking an attentive and compassionate ADHD Teaching Assistant to join our inclusive and supportive educational team in Wandsworth, London. The ideal candidate will possess a profound understanding of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and the challenges it can present within an academic environment. You will work closely with classroom teachers to create an engaging, structured, and nurturing learning space for students with ADHD, fostering their academic and social development.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide tailored support to students with ADHD, ensuring they are able to fully participate in class activities.
• Assist in the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
• Collaborate with teachers to adapt lesson plans and classroom activities to meet the specific needs of students with ADHD.
• Employ innovative teaching methods that sustain attention and encourage active participation.
• Monitor and record students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
• Maintain a calm and well-organized learning environment.
Qualifications:
• An understanding of ADHD and its impact on learning and behaviour.
• Experience supporting children with special educational needs, particularly ADHD, within a classroom setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
• A proactive and patient approach to managing challenging behaviours.
• Relevant NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent is highly desirable.
