Job Title: 1:1 Challenging Behaviour Support
Axcis Education is looking for an experienced teaching assistant to work in 1:1 capacity with a child who can display challenging behaviour and who has complex needs. Experience working with children with special educational needs and challenging behaviour is desirable but not essential. This is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday from 8:30 to 3:30. The rate of pay for this position is £85-100 a day, depending on your previous experience. The position is to start in January (or as soon as possible) and will likely result in a permanent position, subject to a successful trial period.
A child centred education is at the heart of the school’s curriculum. The school have built themes related to science and the environment and have implemented a ‘hands on’ community approach to learning. The school endeavour to build upon the individual interests of every child, and therefore provide opportunities to develop self-confidence, self-esteem and independence. The school are well established in the community and aim to ensure all children leave school becoming respectful, confident, caring and compassionate individuals.
Your role as a 1:1 teaching assistant will involve establishing outstanding relationships with the children you will be working closely with on a day-to-day basis. You must have a positive attitude and a drive to support children with autism (ASD). You will show a willingness to learn new strategies to support children with autism (ASD) and children with additional needs. Additionally, the successful candidate will show an enthusiasm to establish themselves within the school, offering a flexible approach to support the school in a variety of different roles.
