--- **Job Title:** 1:1 ASD Teaching Assistant **Location:** Chorley, Lancashire **Job Description:** We are searching for a compassionate and experienced 1:1 ASD Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team in Chorley, Lancashire. In this role, you will provide essential support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), helping to foster a supportive and inclusive educational environment that enables them to reach their full potential. **Key Responsibilities:** - Provide individualised support to a student with ASD, adapting to their educational, social, and emotional needs. - Implement learning activities and strategies as directed by the teacher to facilitate the student's engagement and progress. - Work closely with the class teacher to understand the educational goals and individual support plan for the student. - Utilise various techniques to promote positive behaviour and support the student's communication and interaction skills. - Monitor and report on the student's progress, providing feedback to the teacher, parents, and relevant professionals. - Assist the student during transitions within the school day, including between activities and class settings. - Collaborate with other members of staff to maintain a safe and structured learning environment. - Attend to the personal care needs of the student as required, ensuring dignity and respect at all times. - Participate in relevant meetings, training, and professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills. **Qualifications & Experience:** - NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or a related field. - Experience working with children with ASD in an educational setting. - Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with ASD and proven strategies to address their individual needs. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and families. - Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of students with ASD. - Flexibility to adapt to changing situations and the individual needs of students. - Commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all students. **What We Offer:** - The opportunity to make a significant difference in the education and life of a child with ASD. - A supportive and collaborative working environment. - Continuous professional development and career progression opportunities. **Application Process:** If you are committed to delivering outstanding one-to-one support and believe that you meet the necessary qualifications and experience, please submit your CV and a cover letter detailing your suitability for the role.
