Job Description: As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with SEMH needs in both academic and pastoral aspects of their education. You will work closely with teaching staff and other professionals to implement tailored strategies and interventions to support the social, emotional, and mental well-being of students. Your duties may include: • Providing one-to-one or small group support to students with SEMH needs. • Assisting teachers in planning and delivering engaging and inclusive lessons. • Supporting students in developing social skills and emotional regulation techniques. • Implementing behaviour management strategies and promoting positive behaviour. • Liaising with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure a collaborative approach to support. Requirements: • Previous experience working with students with SEMH needs is highly desirable. • Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, or related fields are advantageous. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Patience, empathy, and resilience when dealing with challenging situations. • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
