Job Title: Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant

Axcis is working with a fantastic primary school in Sutton Coldfield to recruit a SEND Teaching Assistant. The role will be supporting students with Autism and Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) Needs on a 1:1 basis so experience supporting individuals with similar needs is essential. There may also be occasions where you will be required to work as a general classroom SEND Teaching Assistant so confidence in this role will be key. The school is keen to find someone with a good understanding of SEND and who is positive, kind and proactive. Working hours for this role are between 8.30 to 3.30 and the for a SEND Teaching Assistant starts from £95.29 minimum per day and is in-keeping with the experience of each candidate which joins us. Key Responsibilities include: - Ensuring a positive and safe learning environment that focuses on the wellbeing of the students - Adapting the school work to the needs and academic ability of the individual students - Effectively minimising and handling meltdowns, outbursts and disruptive behaviour Requirements for this role include a passion for supporting students with SEND, strong communication and written English skills, Right to Work in UK.
