Science SEND Teacher | Wiltshire | SEN Teacher Jobs
SEN Teacher SEMH
A small and well-established special school near Trowbridge in Wiltshire requires a Science teacher with experience in SEND settings to start in January 2018 on a part time basis until the end of the academic year.
The school is a year-round residential special school for girls, catering for up to 15 secondary aged students who are taught GCSEs and equivalent qualifications during term-time. All students are the victims of trauma, are in care, have SEBD and mental health issues and challenging behaviour.
They are currently seeking an experienced teacher with the ability to teach science, with an additional second subject, ideally maths, however this is open for discussion. The position is full time and will initially be on a temporary basis, before potentially becoming permanent for the right person.
A recognised UK teaching qualification is desirable, however, if a candidate were to have supplementary experience instead, this may work in their favour.
The students are taught in small groups, split into three different ability levels, with some taking functional skills courses and others taking GCSE style courses.
Ideal candidates will be able to make strong relationships with vulnerable young people, be flexible in their teaching approaches and be able to work as part of a team.
