Axcis have a unique and exciting new role in Torbay with a college who work with young people aged from 16 – 25 years. Some of the pupils who attend ][ are diagnosed with learning difficulties, complex needs, Downs Syndrome, Autism and sensory or speech impairments, as well as Social, Emotional, Mental Health. Alternatively, they may be students who have struggled throughout schooling. Your role will be a 1-1 college enabler and educator. You will be matched with one student to work with. The college create programmes based off the students interests for example; if a student wants to become a farmer, the college will get them hands on experience at a farm, they will qualify using tools and may learn about agriculture and visit museums, garden centres etc with their enabler and educator. You will be assisting planning person centred materials to develop individual aspirations of the students. Safeguarding and risk assessment is an important part of the role - keeping everyone safe and managing behavior is a desired skill to have for this role. The ideal candidate must have come from an educator / support worker or enabler background, understanding the vulnerability of young people/ young adults. For this role, drivers are desirable but not essential. You must be looking for a full-time work. The daily rate of pay is £85 - £95 per day working 8:45 to 3.20pm.
